Notes From A Country Garden: April 16, 2012

Hello Gardening Friends! It’s Monday morning after two days of nice rains here in Indiana. I went out to see what wonderful things are blooming and took a few pics of the butterfly hill for you.
Butterfly Hill 4.16.12
It was too cold and wet to stay long, but it is so pretty right now.
Yesterday I made a video chat for your to tour the garden, including this area.
I enjoy doing those because I think you get a much better idea of how the garden really looks.  It was really windy, but the sun was out for a bit.  Somehow the sound is 3 seconds faster than the images, but you’ll get the idea!

  1. Hello, Brooke! I came over from "Show off your cottage Monday"! Wow! I love your garden. I live in Northern Ohio Zone 5, and we do not yet have our Irises out. Still enjoying the daffodils and blossoms on our Dogwoods and Weeping Redbud. Gosh, I wish I had a blog going so you could look at my flowers, because I love to photograph them. Right now I'm sharing them on Facebook. Well, hopefully I'll start that blog soon. So many things I want to share. . . Have a Great Day! I'll be a new follower.

  2. Wow, what beautiful views you have! You have some beautiful iris in bloom, just love that light blue! I'll be back later to view the video, I can't wait!

  3. Loved your video--your garden looks so lush and beautiful--amazing that it's only 2 years old! And I love all the antique roses--I have a few of them as well, and they are so gorgeous! The iris are lovely as well, and that view from the bench--so picturesque. You are much farther along weather-wise than we are here in SW Washington state, but things are coming along here, too! We are garden zone 8, which is pretty warm, yet we have a short growing season because it takes a really long time for the night temperatures to warm up in the spring. I can't plant tomatoes outside until June, usually, for example.

  4. Love the video, your gardens are gorgeous! I hope to do a video of my own, you did an awesome job.

  5. Wow - so beautiful and green. Love it!

    Thanks for sharing!
