$10 Large Kirkland's Print & Flea Market Friday #3

Welcome to the 3rd #fleamarketfriday Link Up Party!
I have been sick as a dog for the past two weeks with a sinus infection.  Oh guys, let me tell you.  It was miserable!  I went to the doctor twice and was on every type of medicine you can imagine.
But life goes on and my daughter had a great sweet 16 party this past weekend.  I did not make it out of the house much this week, so today I am sharing a find from last weeks trip thrifting.....
One of my favorite "honey holes" to shop at is our local St. Vincent DePaul store.  It is run by the Catholic Charities and it is WONDERFUL for so many reasons, mainly that the money goes back into the community.  You have to get there early, there is a line at the door when they open!  So last Thursday I got there before opening and made a mad dash to the back of the store....
And here is what I found!  This HUGE Kirkland's art piece for $10!  It is gigantic (3 ft squared) and I love the garden theme.  It was so big I barely fit it in my trunk.  I know it would have been over $100 new.  These things are so pricey!
I had been looking for something to put at the landing of our stairs.
And this will be perfect, matching all the other frames I have in this area.
Of course, Dessa wanted to know what I was doing.  She is getting so big.  She is four months now and 12 pounds.  I do not think she will get too much bigger, just more filled out.
She is such a good girl.  She is part of the family already.  Here name is Dessa Belle  (Dessie or Dess for short).  She is a Boston Terrier and such a sweet heart!

New Vintage Child Print & Flea Market Friday #2

Welcome to the 2nd Flea Market Friday Link Up Party!
I am so happy you are back again and get to enjoy all the wonderful shares!!
Today I am sharing this sweet vintage print I found at a local thrift store last week.
I love this style of art and I keep finding this same looking sweet girl over and over in my treasures.  I love that she has a Raggedy Ann doll in her arms.  The colors were just perfect with lots of my favorite blue's and creams.

This one I would call a splurge... it was $20.  But it is a large canvas 18 by 24 inches... and even with the tears on the print, I think it adds character.  I have learned over the years that when something speaks to you... get it.  You just don't see things like this anymore, and most times when you do they are asking an arm and a leg for them.  So... for $20... I am a happy thrifter.

She is now hanging in the entry... ready to say hello to our visitors.

What else have I been up to this week?

And on Wednesday I shared my "Simple Country Statement Wall"

Hopefully you enjoyed all those posts this week!

Simple Country Statement Wall

Just a quick pop in to share my little collage of vintage goodies on the other side of my front door.
For whatever reason I don't seem to get this area in my photos to share with you.
I have been sick with a cold/respiratory stuff all week.  I am finally feeling a bit better.  Getting ready for my oldest's sweet 16 this weekend.

Love to all....Brooke

My Love Of Vintage White Dishes and Lace....

I have to admit.
I have a problem.
I am addicted to buying white dishes and lace.
I cannot seem to stop.  And honestly... I don't want to.
It started a few years ago with a few transfer-ware pieces.
But now it is full on white ironstone that really makes my heart soar.
 Sweet scallops make me smile.

A Bit More About My Cottage Kitchen -- Reader's Questions Answered!

Happy Friday dear readers. I had a blogging friend request for me to take some more photos of the kitchen for her.  Especially my upper cabinets and the goodies there.
So I gladly took these photos, and now I will share them with all of you!
Many of you know this was my last big project... it went from country to cottage this summer.

My Sweet-Shabby Vintage Tin Lampshade and The Very First Flea Market Friday Link Up Party!

Welcome to the very first #FleaMarketFriday here at Creative Country Mom's!
I am so excited to be hosting this new weekly party!
For this first share I wanted to let you see my corner desk area.
I love my old library table for a desk with it's lovely column legs.
The blanket chest is great storage plus more than one person can be looking at the computer.  Perfect for homework and school projects I might need to help the girls with.  It is full of computer and camera equipment, extra copy paper and books of course!
This area sits off the entry in what use to be my dining room.  I have a country eat-in kitchen and another eating area on our screen room.  So I removed the old dining table and hutch and use it as an open office and display room for my vintage goodies.
Today's flea market share is this fun punched tin shade.  I found this about three years ago at an yard sale down the road.  It had been hanging outside and was filthy.  It actually was about 10 ft up in the air and I asked the lady if she would sell it to me.  She had her husband (not happily) get a ladder and take it down for me for something like $3.  My husband was with me and thought I was crazy.  I wanted to use it in the kitchen over the table for years, but my husband was not sold on the idea.  So since then I had been looking for a perfect spot for it.  Then last week the thought hit me... My desk lamp shade could be moved and it would work there!  I love it when it all comes together like that.  I added bits of lace and the glass crystals.  Wha-la!  It is so pretty of an evening... sending dots of light all over the walls.
