Favorite Flowers - Strawberry-Vanilla Hydrangea

Hello dear garden friends!
It has been a wonderful few days in the garden.
Cool morning and highs in the mid-70s.
Isn't that wonderful?
Makes me want to open all the windows and call it fall!
But we have August yet to go....

Todays favorite flower is actually a shrub.
Strawberry Vanilla Hydrangea is a paniculata hydrangea.
What does that mean?
It is much more woody stemmed than the old fashioned mopheads.
It grows upright and out.
It can be quite large once established.
Up to 8 ft by 8ft I think.
Mine is in front of the air conditioner unit.
So it will do a good job hiding it in the summer months.

This is the first phase of its color.
It will turn more pink starting at the bottoms of the blooms soon.
An ombre effect.
I will share pics again once that happens too.

Thanks so much for stopping by today...Brooke
