Aged Beauties...

“The afternoon knows what the morning never suspected.”
― Robert Frost

“All children, except one, grow up. They soon know that they will grow up, and the way Wendy knew was this. One day when she was two years old she was playing in a garden, and she plucked another flower and ran with it to her mother. I suppose she must have looked rather delightful, for Mrs Darling put her hand to her heart and cried, ‘Oh, why can’t you remain like this for ever!’ This was all that passed between them on the subject, but henceforth Wendy knew that she must grow up. You always know after you are two. Two is the beginning of the end.”

“Will you love me in December as you do in May?”
― Jack KerouacThe Town and the City

The problem with beauty is that it's like being born rich and getting poorer.  ~Joan Collins

“In terms of days and moments lived, you’ll never again be as young as you are right now, so spend this day, the youth of your future, in a way that deflects regret. Invest in yourself. Have some fun. Do something important. Love somebody extra. In one sense, you’re just a kid, but a kid with enough years on her to know that every day is priceless.”

Middle age is when work is a lot less fun and fun is a lot more work.  ~Author Unknown

“Maybe it's true that life begins at fifty. But everything else starts to wear out, fall out, or spread out.”
― Phyllis Diller

Some people, no matter how old they get, never lose their beauty - they merely move it from their faces into their hearts.  ~Martin Buxbaum

Do not regret growing older.  It is a privilege denied to many.  ~Author Unknown

  1. Lovely, Brooke! I enjoyed each quote, but I think my favorites are the one from Peter Pan, and the last two. I must work towards moving the beauty of youth to my heart. I like that.
