Life at the Lake….

It sure is nice to see all the critters back here at the lake.

I can sit at my desk and hear the geese down at the lake.  I love that sound.  That and the bugs are back…. you can hear them of an evening again.  Makes me want to have the windows open…. but it was only 50’s today!  Have to wait a bit longer.

As you can see, the grass is just starting to green up again.  It could snow later this week.

But things are coming back nicely.  I have most of my cleanup done so I am ready for the season.

My bulbs look good…. I am ready for the 500 ones I planted to bloom!  I go around every day and look for them….lol.

And I am still putting out seeds in places.  Probably planting right over things!  Oh well.  Seeds are magic for me…. my little fairy dust….sprinkled liberally.

Felix was helping me today.  He is such a good boy.  This guy is my best garden buddy.

And this is Bella, the spoiled little girl.  She is a brat, but so cute we let her get away with it.  So far she is in the way most of the time.  Like to get right in your face when you get down to weed….

She has been keeping an eye one my seeds on the deck.  They are doing really good, have never done seeds like this….but it has been fun to check them.

But I only cared about this banana bread waiting for me when I can in.  I made it sugar and butter free.  Splenda and spray butter…. 0 calories…   it turned out really good an moist.  I have been on a big diet and have lost 2 pant sizes…. Hoping a good Spring Garden Workout will help me along!  At least get me out of the kitchen!!

Happy Gardening Everyone----Brooke

  1. Congrats on your weight loss! I know it is hard work. Is this your first time winter sowing? With those jugs in the direct sun like that, you need to take the blue caps off. They will overheat and cook.

  2. I love the layout of your land. The lake visitors looks happy. Congrats on your weight loss, I bet you feel good!

  3. The lake is so pretty. It must give you a lot of pleasure to see the ducks, geese and birds coming back to it.

  4. Things in the garden look lovely. We still have snow and cold, cold weather. But the bulbs are peeping through anyway.

Now, you must share your recipe. You've done so wonderfully - 2 pants sizes!!

  5. You've been a busy girl with 300 bulbs, seeds, cleanup and losing all that weight. Congratulations I know it's isn't easy. Your Banana Bread looks scrumptious.

  6. I like the idea of seeds being fairy dust. It is magical the way they turn common dirt into a rainbow of flowers. I have often wondered if you see ducks and other water fowl on your lake. Congrats on your diet. I should be doing something of the same.

Thanks so much for leaving a comment. I enjoy hearing from my readers!
